I’m Liz Penner

Liz Penner is a residential real estate professional and instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board. She designs and delivers professional education for real estate professionals and home builders in areas including legal risk, customer service, marketing, small business development, land use interpretation, and market strategy. She is the author of Leadership in Real Estate: A People-First Approach to Brokerage Recruitment, Retention, and Team Building, published by Routledge.

With over twenty years of active practice in Surrey, Langley, and across the Fraser Valley, Liz brings field-tested experience into the classroom. She is licensed as a Managing Broker in British Columbia and has consistently ranked among the top 10% of agents in the Fraser Valley for more than a decade, earning Master Medallion status.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Leadership from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is completing her Master of Business Administration at Carleton University, focusing on change management. She has completed the full Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) curriculum, strengthening her understanding of financial and market analysis, and is pursuing an Associate Certificate in Education through BCIT’s Polytechnic Education program.

Her work centers on translating complex real estate systems—regulation, governance, valuation, marketing, and professional practice—into structured, practical strategy. She is known for clear thinking, direct communication, and building learning environments that emphasize accountability and professional standards.

Beyond instruction and practice, Liz contributes to governance within the profession. She served on the Legal Defence Committee for the BC Real Estate Association, the Professional Conduct Committee for the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, and on the FVREB Managing Brokers Council. She has also served on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee for the KPU Alumni Association.

She lives in Langley, British Columbia, with her husband and two children. Her work reflects a commitment to professional competence, thoughtful leadership, and responsible decision-making in real estate.
