About Liz Penner
Liz Penner is a residential real estate professional, instructor, and author whose work focuses on interpreting complex real estate systems and translating them into practical insight. She teaches industry professionals and home builders at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and is the author of Leadership in Real Estate: A People-First Approach to Brokerage Recruitment, Retention, and Team Building, published by Routledge (Taylor & Francis).
With more than two decades of active practice in Surrey, Langley, and the Fraser Valley, Liz brings deep field experience into the classroom and advisory work. She is licensed as a Managing Broker in British Columbia and has consistently ranked among the top 10% of agents in the Fraser Valley, earning Master Medallion status through the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board.
Liz holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Leadership from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is completing her Master of Business Administration at Carleton University, focusing on change management. She has also completed the full Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) curriculum to strengthen her understanding of financial and market analysis and is pursuing an Associate Certificate in Education through BCIT’s Polytechnic Education program.
Her professional work centers on helping real estate practitioners, development professionals, and organizations think critically about market dynamics, governance frameworks, customer experience, and strategic decision-making. Known for clear thinking and a structured approach, Liz builds learning experiences that prioritize accountability, competence, and long-term success.
Liz contributes to the profession through governance and leadership roles, including service on the Legal Defence Committee for the BC Real Estate Association, the Professional Conduct Committee for the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, and the Board of Directors for the FVREB Managing Brokers Council. She has also served on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee for the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Alumni Association.
She lives in Langley, British Columbia, with her husband and two children.
