Unapologetically Original,
Analytical, and Effective.
In a world overrun by ads, your marketing needs to interrupt the ordinary to create a reaction.
But attracting attention is only the beginning. The work also has to be credible. It has to reflect something you can deliver reliably, even after the novelty wears off and the campaign ends.
That is where strategic storytelling begins.
Through research, analysis, and listening, I help you craft a compelling story.
A business has to give customers a reason to notice it, a reason to choose it, and then a reason to return. Boldness creates the first opportunity. Greatness turns that opportunity into a lasting relationship.
The strongest brand stories bring the two together. They make a business interesting without making it unrecognizable, and ambitious without making promises it cannot keep.
Attract attention.
In a space crowded with messages and overwhelmed by advertising, the ordinary is easily overlooked.
Customers are surrounded by businesses making similar promises, selling comparable products, and competing for the same limited attention.
It is the unexpected idea, the dramatic decision, or the campaign nobody has seen before that interrupts the familiar and creates a reaction. Bold ideas cut through the noise. They create the space in which a business can be noticed.
Earns trust.
Customers are attracted to what is new, relevant, and interesting. But they return to what they can count on.
Greatness is the ability to produce something valuable reliably over time. It is reliability repeated until it becomes boring. It is keeping promises when doing so is difficult, painful, and expensive. It is showing up on an ordinary Tuesday when it is raining, everyone is tired, something has gone wrong, and the customer still expects you to be exactly who you said you were.
That kind of greatness builds trust. And trust creates loyalty.
People come for bold. They return for great.
What is the story everything else should tell?
I research your business, market, customers, competitors, and offerings to identify the central idea that makes you distinctive and gives people a reason to care.
The finished strategic narrative framework establishes the foundation from which all future marketing can be created.
This framework can guide websites, advertising, campaigns, sales materials, social media, presentations, and communications.
It gives everyone creating on behalf of the business a clear and consistent answer to the same essential question:
What should we say—and why should anyone believe us?
Original thinking grounded by research
I draw from research, market intelligence, customer behaviour, and professional practice to see the connections others may overlook. I have written two textbooks featuring original frameworks that bring ideas from different disciplines together in new ways.
My education and professional experience have taken me through business, leadership, change management, accounting, marketing, real estate, property valuation, consumer segmentation, sales, and professional education. Each discipline has given me another way of looking at markets, organizations, people, and decisions.
My work builds on that foundation: the research, analysis, positioning, and original thinking that determine what a business should say before time and money are spent deciding how and where to say it.
The process begins with listening.
I look at what competitors are saying, where their stories overlap, what customers have come to expect, and where there may be room to say something meaningfully different.
That is where the story begins.
The work is finding the one worth telling.
Let’s find the story everything else should tell.
